In recent weeks we have been working on content to explain more clearly what steps are necessary to start a workflow in KuFlow and how to do it.

Last week we incorporated a new use case, which shows some of KuFlow's features and serves as a tutorial to learn how to use our tool.

A typical scenario in which KuFlow can add value is the execution of processes involving humans, RPAs, and APIs from external systems. Such use cases are described in our documentation, in the sections Orchestrate human workflows and Orchestrating business processes involving human and other systems.

Roughly, the process of this tutorial consists of the following steps:

  • A KuFlow user creates a loan application, specifying both the amount and the currency
  • In case the currency is not in euros, an automatic operation is carried out (transparent to users) to obtain the conversion of currencies to euros.
  • In case the loan is less than or equal to €5,000, the loan is automatically granted
  • In case the loan is greater than €5,000, a review and approval task is created by a second user. That user will approve or reject the loan, and the requesting user will be notified of the result.

For this exercise, we will use the KuFlow Engine (KuEngine), which is a process engine based on Temporal.io.

The visual scheme that represents all the components of the exercise is as follows:

In this section of our documentation, you have the step-by-step tutorial to perform this exercise: https://docs.kuflow.com/developers/examples/curated/others/serverless-workflow-tutorial

And then we share a video summary of the entire exercise:
